Have you seen the movie Pay It Forward?
I did and the whole idea of the movie has
become an obsession with me. It was the
story & idea of the movie that struck me,
The concept of people helping people, not
so much with money but with things we
can do and provide struck a chord, so much
so that I decided to create Paint-It-Forward.
I am giving away my art to help as many
people and organizations as I possible can.
Why?....
...... Plain and simple, personally I feel it's something I need to do and it should benefit everyone in the chain of Paint-It-Forward. There are no hidden agendas or a catch and I am not looking to recruit anyone into a cult or a pyramid scheme, I just believe that helping those in need when one is at a time in their life when they can help, is the right thing to do.
Paint-It-Forward is kind of like a barter system, a win win for all that participate. I help your organization and in return you are helping your not-for-profit with cash that you make from the sale of the painting. The buyer wins because they get a nice piece of art for donating their money to charity. I get back a great feeling of helping out and I get my work hanging in homes across the nation. A win win for all. My mission for Paint-It-Forward is to start the ball rolling and see how far the ball will roll.
How can my paintings help? Many not-for-profit organizations have auctions to raise money, and that is where my paintings can and hopefully will help your goal. On average, if you frame the matted work I donate to you, it should raise anywhere from $150.00 dollars up to as high as your market will bear. To date the largest amount paid for one of the pieces I donated was $900.00.
I started this program by word of mouth beginning in January of 2004 but decided to bring it to full swing and announce it officially on my birthday in November 2004. I have been donating paintings most of my artistic life but I am now doing it officially in my obsession to Paint-It-Forward.
Thanks!
